Subsequently, case studies of three companies that are actually promoting the Systems of Interaction initiative by utilizing IBM technology were introduced.
Streamlining application development for customers
The first company is an example of using mobile applications on Lotte Card in South Korea.
According to Chris J. Chan, CEO of Finance All Solutions, who was in charge of developing this application, he encountered various requirements and issues during development, such as multi-platform support and reduction of development period and cost.
Inevitable in mobile application development is to support various platforms and provide the same user experience. Running multiple similar projects to develop for individual platforms would be too costly.
To solve this problem, the company introduced the MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Application Platform) product "IBM Worklight" (hereinafter referred to as "Worklight") provided by IBM.
Worklight is an integrated development environment that supports the creation of native applications and HTML5 applications for multiple platforms while absorbing differences between platforms. It has Worklight Studio, an IDE, and Worklight Server, a development project management tool, and has runtimes and consoles for various devices.
The company said that Worklight was able to improve the productivity and maintainability of mobile application development, and by extension, provided Lotte Card with new IT value and business opportunities using mobile.
Transfer business process changes to department users
The second company is an example of introducing "IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM)" at Tokio Marine & Nichido Systems. ODM is a software product for automatically executing decisions and business actions in response to the occurrence of business events.
Tokio Marine & Nichido Systems is working on the "Challenge 50 Start" project, which reduces the system development period by 50%, in order to meet the demand for faster product development and provision in the insurance industry, and adopted ODM as part of this project. According to Toshiaki Tsuchiya, Executive Officer, General Manager of Sales Strategy Promotion Headquarters, the introduction of ODM has made it possible to significantly shorten the system development period and allow the person in charge at the business site to flexibly change the business process. Service development of "Carrozzeria" with vertically integrated machine
The third company is an example of a car navigation system at Pioneer. Pioneer is developing a service called "Smart Loop" that collects driving information of cars equipped with the products of the company's car navigation brand "Carrozzeria" and shares them in real time among drivers.
The company has adopted the "IBM PureApplication System" as a big data collection and analysis platform to realize this. Based on the case studies of these three companies, Mr. Mito emphasized that IBM Websphere brand products provide advanced solutions in all areas of Systems of Interaction. He introduced specific products again in the three fields of "mobile," "business process," and "application platform," which were mentioned in the case studies.
In the mobile field, the aforementioned "IBM Worklight" will provide a cross-platform mobile application development and execution platform. In addition, it provides the messaging gateway product "IBM MessageSight" and the messaging protocol "MQ Telemetry Transport" as a messaging platform that connects mobile devices and corporate data centers.
In the business process field, in addition to the ODM mentioned above, we also offer the business process development / execution platform product "IBM Business Process Manager" and the ESB (enterprise service bus) product "IBM Integration Bus". This supports the development and operation of highly and flexible customer-oriented business processes.
In addition, IBM Fellow CTO Jason Maggie, who was in charge of the development of the appliance product "IBM PureApplication System" that provides the application platform, took the stage to emphasize its appeal.

In addition, the mapping between virtual machines and hardware is also automatically optimized, and the configuration is automatically optimized at any time while considering the operational status. This can be expected to reduce the man-hours required to start up and operate a new system. Pre-defined components are prepared as "patterns", and settings can be made by combining these patterns.
